You can’t shake the feeling that you aren’t good enough, aren’t doing enough, aren’t capable enough.
All the people around you tell you how wonderful you are and how much you support and help them, but you have a hard time believing you are as great as they claim you are. If I am so great, why can’t I help myself, you ask.
Your thoughts constantly race without finding real answers for why you are struggling, you wake up anxious, you go to bed anxious. Something is lacking, there is a void and you have been trying to fill it with things with no relief in sight.
Consider this: you can remain motivated towards hard work, achieving your goals, AND you can be kinder to yourself!
Don’t believe me? That’s okay! It’s normal to question if this really works, in therapy we will explore these doubts, worries, fears and concerns.
My Specialties
Let’s collaborate! Therapy should be engaging and dynamic.
I am a Licensed Mental Health Therapist in Rochester, NY. I have an extensive history in working with young adults and adults on life transitions and managing anxiety and obsessive thinking.
Through my own self-exploration and training I have learned skills that are helpful in becoming kinder to self through improved self-talk and self-worth. I regularly utilize the very skills I teach my clients. Having first hand experience with what I am asking you to try during and outside of sessions allows me to give authentic responses to your questions and concerns about the vulnerable experiences we all have in therapy.
I am a Certified Clinical Anxiety Treatment Professional (CCATP) through Evergreen Certifications. I provide a combination of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Exposure and Response Prevention treatment for a variety of diagnoses including generalized anxiety, social anxiety, panic disorder and obsessive compulsive disorder.
My Approach to Therapy
Collaborative: Therapy is a joint process experienced by both the client and the therapist. I believe that you are the expert on your life. I can provide insights and evidence that will validate what you are thinking and feeling and help you behave in meaningful ways, but you know what is best for you. I will walk with you while you increase your confidence.
Encouraging: We all need a cheerleader sometimes! I know that you are capable of progress, even if you don’t believe that today. Let me believe it until you do. Through our work together you will increase your self-worth, I will be there encouraging you along the way.
Compassionate: We are so quick to meet our thoughts and feelings with judgment and harshness, in therapy I will provide a compassionate voice while you learn to find your own. My hope is that by the time you are ready to complete therapy you have more compassion for yourself and have learned ways to be softer and kinder to yourself.
