The pain feels overwhelming, and your grief is hard to express. Your relationships are challenging to navigate, and your reactions feel out of proportion.
If you’re trying to make sense of your experiences and have more meaning and joy in life but struggling, I can help!
With my support, you’ll learn how to cope with pain and find purpose, process grief and move forward, communicate assertively to strengthen relationships, and understand the past coming out in your reactions to respond more presently.
My Specialties
Helping you own the fullness of your story is a process I believe wholeheartedly in because I’ve walked through it myself.
I hope to help you feel empowered, to recognize all the choices you have, and to support you in taking risks to improve your life even when it seems daunting and maintaining the norm is much more comfortable.
I obtained my Masters in Social Work and went on to work in intensive mental health treatment for 4+ years where I fell in love with group therapy and person centered, goal directed care while obtaining my clinical license.
This experience drives me to approach therapy as a collaborative process focused on realizing and achieving your goals.
I moved into the clinic setting and continued to refine my approach to therapy while gaining supervision and leadership experience. My style is relational and interpersonal, and I draw heavily upon acceptance commitment therapy and self-compassion. I also incorporate cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) and consider the impact of trauma and attachment history.
Outside of therapy I’m a full-time mama to two littles, I love baking, daydreaming about gardening and spending time with my family (and our cat Lucy!).
My Approach to Therapy
Narrative: Your life tells a story, and I can help you integrate the hard parts with the beautiful ones to create a cohesive whole that you feel proud of.
Process: Healing is a journey that often takes longer than we’d like it to, but I will be with you every step of the way reminding you that it’s a process and affirming all the forward progress you’re making.
Workability: The skills we use to cope with life and navigate relationships can become engrained, even when they no longer help us achieve what we want. I can help you objectively consider if your current skills are ‘working’ for you, and if not, other strategies to consider!
Compassion: The antidote to pain and debilitating shame that comes from hard experiences is compassion, and I’ll equip you with practical skills to be more kind to your past and present selves as well as others so that you feel comfortable showing up authentically.
